Youth Volunteer Project 2025 – Product and Brand Showcase with OTOP Bang Bo Community Enterprise
The management team of Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME Business School), Assumption University, proudly hosted the “Product and Brand Showcase” on September 11, 2025, at the first floor of the MSM Building, Suvarnabhumi Campus.
As part of the Youth Volunteer Project 2025, MSME invited the president of the OTOP Bang Bo Community Enterprise (Salt Gourami Fish, Samut Prakan province) and a team of seven community members to join the event and collaborate with students. This initiative reflects the School’s commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world community engagement, providing students with hands-on experience in innovation, branding, and social responsibility.
Three student teams from the BMK3203 “Brand Driven Innovation” course showcased their new product and brand concepts, inspired by the community’s signature salt gourami fish:
- Ploem Jai – rice toppings with salt gourami fish and Wolffia Globosa,
- Zalid Zing – Isan-style salted gourami fish sausage,
- Dee Pla – healthy crispy salted gourami fish salad.
During the showcase, the student teams received constructive recommendations from the OTOP Bang Bo community team, MSME Dean, Assistant Dean, faculty members, and fellow students. The collaboration created a dynamic learning platform where academic creativity met local wisdom, ensuring that the students’ innovations aligned with real community needs.
The overall performance was evaluated jointly by the community and the academic team, with Ploem Jai earning the highest score, followed by Zalid Zing in second place, and Dee Pla in third. The evaluation was based on product innovation, feasibility for production and market launch, brand appeal and character, and the overall impression of the showcase efforts.
This activity not only enhanced students’ skills in product development and branding but also strengthened sustainable university–community partnerships, echoing MSME’s mission to empower students as responsible leaders while supporting local enterprises in their journey toward growth and sustainability.
