MSME Field Visit: Co-Creating Value-Added Products with Chan Krung Community
On 24 August 2025, students and faculty from the Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), Assumption University, visited the Chan Krung Nawat Withee Community Enterprise (วิสาหกิจชุมชนชานกรุงนวัตวิถี) in Lat Krabang District, Bangkok, as part of the ongoing Youth Volunteer Project 2025, supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
Under the project titled “From Chan Krung Sugarcane to Creative Products: Adding Value and Building Sustainability,” this visit focused on co-developing new sugarcane-based products that reflect both local identity and market potential.
A key highlight of the day was a community-led big cleaning activity, conducted in preparation for applying Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
The MSME team also supported the development of a new product, sugarcane with hog plum juice. In addition, students worked closely with community members to collect financial data for improving the accounting system, aiming to strengthen transparency and operational efficiency within the enterprise.
To enhance product visibility, the team helped the community develop TikTok content, improve the layout and messaging of the existing Facebook page, and design a promotional vinyl banner to support offline marketing efforts.
This hands-on collaboration reflects the project’s mission to combine academic learning with social impact. Through meaningful engagement, students contribute to sustainable community development while gaining practical experience in product innovation, financial literacy, digital marketing, and business planning.
