As part of the Youth Volunteer Project 2025, supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, a team of faculty members and students from the Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, the Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, and the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption University, conducted a field visit on 10–11 July 2025 to three community enterprises in Pathum Thani Province and Lat Krabang District, Bangkok.

The visit included:

  • Environmental Conservation Community Enterprise Group (วิสาหกิจชุมชนกลุ่มรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม), Pathum Thani: “Development of Broom Products from Recycled Bottles”
  • Ruangkhao Community Enterprise (วิสาหกิจชุมชนรวงข้าว), Pathum Thani: “Development of Local Desserts’ Identity of the Mon Community for Sustainable Community Development”
  • Chan Krung Nawat Withee Community Enterprise (วิสาหกิจชุมชนชานกรุงนวัตวิถี), Lat Krabang District, Bangkok: “From Chan Krung Sugarcane to Creative Products: Adding Value and Building Sustainability”

The field visit aimed to assess community needs, continue support for existing partnerships, and strengthen collaboration in areas such as product development, marketing, branding, and basic accounting system improvement.

The projects are designed to empower community enterprises by adding value to local products, enhancing marketing and branding efforts, and building recognizable brand identities. Each initiative emphasizes sustainable business practices, aiming to generate income and improve the overall quality of life within the community.

This hands-on initiative also provides Assumption University students with an invaluable opportunity to apply academic knowledge in real-world settings through planning, problem-solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and active community engagement.
