The ABLE-UBI Center assists inspiring entrepreneurs (either students or faculty members) to navigate through the three stages to start a business: pre-incubation, incubation, and finally startup. It provides services and detailed knowledge that facilitate and allow one to navigate through these three stages.
In particular, the center hosts regular workshops on
- business plan writing knowledge,
- business environment analyst and venture opportunity screening,
- research for entrepreneurs,
- consumer behavior analysis,
- marketing plan,
- manufacturing and operation,
- management plan for entrepreneurs,
- financial projection for entrepreneurs,
- and many many other more pieces of information and knowledge.
To locate, unveil and disseminate crucial business knowledge to entrepreneurs on campus, the Center relies on the expertise and strength of MSME. MSME has 11 undergraduate disciplines and 3 graduate programs. With almost 200 faculty members, the Center is able to locate specialists in different fields of knowledge. To gain insights into how businesses are run today and acquire hand-on experiences, the Center also invites guest speakers to give seminars and workshops.
The Center works closely with entrepreneurs. Any project is assigned with one or more responsible faculty members. All projects are all carefully supervised to ensure every step towards a successful business. Faculty members act as business coaches, such as assisting in writing business plans. With the help from the responsible faculty member(s) and the well thought out plan of the Center, one can learn greatly about how to transform a brilliant idea into a viable business.
Entrepreneurs on campus, with the assistance from the ABLE-UBI Center, can implement the learnt knowledge to start up business projects, allowing ideas from paper to become real businesses. To internalize, excel, and master business knowledge, the Center also hosts business plan competitions, and awards top projects with monetary prizes and physical resources.
